In the world of Information Technology, Gene is a problem-solver and solutions implementer with a passion for client service. He works to understand the IT needs and business goals of his clients. Thus, he is able to devise the most effective and economical responses to the IT challenges that stand between his clients and their goals.
Gene’s career began in 1982, when he brought a childhood interest in computers to work at Intel Corporation, where he became not just a skilled technician, but also a business analyst. After several years at Intel, Gene worked more directly with clients as a lead tech at a Maryland-based regional provider of IT solutions and services. When the owners of that company closed shop in 2001, many of their clients insisted that Gene continue to advise and assist them with their IT needs. That is how BrightLink Technologies was born in 2001. Over 20 years later, 90% of those original clients are still relying on BrightLink to improve their business processes and secure their information assets.
In an industry too often marked by remote and impersonal service, Gene’s clients can rely on and trust him to respond promptly and to devise the most appropriate, effective and economical responses tailored to their individual needs. In fact, his relationships with clients have enabled BrightLink to grow and prosper solely on referrals.
Robin is BrightLink’s Administrative Coordinator. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1991, Robin went on to work for a non-profit legal foundation in Washington, DC, a public relations firm in Baltimore and a tech company in Howard County, Maryland before meeting and marrying Gene. Robin convinced Gene to use their wedding gifts to start BrightLink in 2001, and that is when she left the outside workforce to take on all behind-the-scenes roles in their small family business.
